21 Savage was presented with Atlanta’s Carry the Torch Award at the Blue Christmas Gala by the Young Democrats of Atlanta on December 8th.

“I am grateful to have received this year’s Carry the Torch Award,”

said the Atlanta-raised rapper during his acceptance speech.

“I want to inspire the kids and empower them. I hope to be a source of inspiration for them. I did not have much growing up, and I forged my own path. I am happy to give back with my platform, especially through my financial literacy program. I hope to be a leader for the next generation.”

21 Savage shares the honor with civil rights activist Andrew Young. Additionally, Savage was surprised with a proclamation from the city of Atlanta during the gala by Fulton County Commissioner Natalie Hall, who represents a district that promises to continue his impact in and beyond Atlanta.

The award marks the end of a busy year for Savage, as he embarked on two tours in 2023: one with Drake, and a European tour after obtaining a green card allowing him to travel abroad.
