The French Embassy in Nigeria has launched the Lagos x Paris Fashion and Design Accelerator, a nine-month program aimed at supporting 10 high-potential Nigerian fashion brands. The program will provide mentorship, nurture creativity, reinforce business literacy, and guide emerging creatives in navigating the fashion industry. The 10 brands selected include Lagos Space Programme, TJWHO Design, Obida, Eki Kere, Elexiay, WAF – Wafflesandcream Limited, Maliko and Ethnic Africa, OMI Collective et Aga Design, and Culture Limited. The program was created in collaboration with fashion and design stakeholders and offers a curriculum developed with French and African experts and the Nigerian incubator CCHUB.
The French Embassy in Nigeria has officially launched the Lagos x Paris Fashion and Design Accelerator. This nine-month program, running from October 2023 to June 2024, aims to support ten promising Nigerian brands in the fashion and design industry.
Sponsored by the French Embassy, the program will provide mentorship, nurture creativity, enhance business literacy, and guide Nigerian emerging creatives and their teams in navigating the French and global fashion industry.
The ten chosen brands for this cohort include Lagos Space Programme, TJWHO Design, Obida, Eki Kere, Elexiay, WAF – Wafflesandcream Limited, Maliko and Ethnic Africa, OMI Collective et Aga Design, and Culture Limited.
During the unveiling event held in Lagos, French Ambassador to Nigeria, Emmanuelle Blatmann, highlighted the significant growth of Nigeria’s cultural and creative industries, particularly in film, music, animation, video games, and fashion.
She further emphasized that the program was developed in collaboration with renowned fashion and design stakeholders. The curriculum includes both group and individual training, mentoring, and master classes, designed with the expertise of renowned French and African professionals, as well as the Nigerian incubator for the creative industry, CCHUB.
