Medikal Declares Himself Ghana’s Rap King, Stirring Debate Among Sarkodie Fans

Ghanaian musician Samuel Adu Frimpong, popularly known as Medikal, confidently stated in an interview with media personality Bola Ray that he believes he is the best rapper in Ghana. He expressed that Ghanaians recognize his talent as the top rapper in the country and that winning the award for best rapper at the Telecel Ghana Music Awards (TGMA) this year would be a significant achievement.

Medikal shared his disappointment over not winning any awards as a newcomer, despite being nominated in seven categories during his first year.

Regarding the Best Rapper award, I have been nominated. The VGMA has nominated me for various awards over the years, but you know the outcome.

I was saddened by the lack of recognition during my first year. The VGMA organizers were unfair. Despite receiving seven nominations, including artiste of the year, I did not win a single award.

Whether I win or not this year, I am confident that I am the best rapper in Ghana. The award is not what defines that. If they do not acknowledge it, they are simply not acknowledging the truth.

TGMA should award me in all the categories I have been nominated for because I deserve it.
