The National Pension Commission, PenCom, strongly denies allegations of financial impropriety against the commission and its Director General, Mrs Aisha Dahir-Umar. These allegations are described as outrageous falsehoods. PenCom issued a statement during the weekend, expressing concern over a report that includes fabricated documents claiming the DG received millions of dollars for foreign trips, even during the Covid-19 lockdown. However, PenCom states that the report is completely unfounded and urges those seeking political appointments to employ more ethical methods.
