Ghanaian artist Shatta Wale expressed frustration with the recent movement to decrease the popularity of Nigerian music in Ghana.

He believes that Ghanaians should have the freedom to enjoy the music of their choice and that the focus of the music industry should be on promoting Ghanaian artists rather than limiting the success of Nigerian artists.

Shatta Wale criticized the idea of reducing the exposure of Nigerian artists such as Wizkid, Davido, and Burna Boy in Ghana.

He also questioned why some in the industry would want to play their music less frequently, considering the admire these Nigerian artists have shown for Ghana.

The artist used humor to emphasize the length of time it would take for Ghanaian artists to achieve the same level of recognition and popularity in Nigeria as Nigerian artists do in Ghana.

He emphasized that Ghanaians shouldn’t be forced to listen to a particular artist.

“Your spirit of wanna be is very bad ..Is it by force for Ghanaians to listen to your fav. They like Wizkid.”
