In recent news, Tiwa Savage, a popular afrobeats singer, shared that she will be unable to perform for the next few months due to a virus she is currently battling. This is not uncommon as other artists have also had to cancel performances for various reasons. Let’s take a look at some of these artists.

Tiwa Savage

On October 18, 2023, Tiwa Savage announced through an Instagram statement that she will be postponing her upcoming performances, including her London show on November 26, 2023, due to a viral infection. She expressed her disappointment and promised to return once she has fully recovered.

Davido

Davido, another popular singer, made an announcement on September 11, 2023, stating that he will be rescheduling the remaining dates of his “Timeless” global tour due to production issues. He emphasized his commitment to delivering an exceptional experience for his fans and disclosed that the extra time will be used to improve the show.

It is worth noting that he had previously rescheduled his “Are We African Yet” festival to honor his late son, Ifeanyi.

Ayra Starr

In June 2023, Ayra Starr shared that she would not be able to perform in certain countries due to visa issues. She expressed her frustration but assured her fans that she will deliver an unforgettable performance once the issue is resolved. Additionally, in April 2023, she had to cancel her anticipated shows in the United States due to being placed on bed rest by her doctor.

Wizkid

Wizkid postponed his “More Love Less Ego” tour in the United States, which was supposed to begin on March 3, 2023, due to logistical issues. He explained that the tour will now take place in the Fall of 2023, honoring the tickets purchased for the original dates.

Burna Boy

Burna Boy cancelled his show at the FNB Stadium in Johannesburg, South Africa, originally scheduled for September 23, 2023. He cited the promoters’ failure to fulfill their obligations as the reason for the cancellation. The concert was later rescheduled for December 16, 2023.

Rema

Rema cancelled his performance in Atlanta, USA, due to issues with the venue, including lack of proper ventilation and technical problems causing gadget overheating. He expressed his love for his fans and emphasized the importance of delivering a quality show.
