Three individuals have been arrested by the Lagos State Police Command following the death of Dr. Vware Diaso at a hospital in Lagos. Dr. Diaso died after a faulty elevator at the hospital crashed on her. The police have begun an investigation into the incident. The Nigerian Medical Association, Lagos Branch has also started an independent probe into the cause of Dr. Diaso’s death. A safety expert has highlighted the importance of regular maintenance of elevators to prevent such incidents. The incident has prompted protests by doctors who allege negligence on the part of the hospital management.
 

Three individuals have been apprehended by the Lagos State Police Command in connection with the death of Dr. Vware Diaso, a medical practitioner at the General Hospital in Lagos.

The arrest was confirmed by SP Benjamin Hundeyin, the spokesman for the Lagos State Police Command, who stated that an investigation had been initiated.

Earlier, Naijafavourite reported that the Lagos State Government was investigating the circumstances that led to Dr. Diaso’s death.

Dr. Diaso was killed when a faulty elevator at the General Hospital, Odan, Lagos, collapsed on her. The incident occurred when she was on the 9th floor to meet a food delivery rider.

Despite being rushed to the emergency ward, Dr. Diaso could not be saved. She was just two weeks away from completing her internship at the hospital.

The hospital management has faced backlash from protesting doctors who accused them of negligence. They claim that the faulty elevator was known to the management and no action was taken.

The Nigerian Medical Association, Lagos Branch, has also launched an independent investigation into Dr. Diaso’s death. The investigation panel consists of members from the Nigerian Bar Association and the Nigerian Society of Engineers.

Mahiu Muttiu, a safety expert, emphasized the importance of regular maintenance of elevators to prevent such incidents from occurring. He criticized the hospital management for failing to prioritize safety measures.
